Changes in Search Query Matching

Google Ads has rolled out four major updates aimed at improving query matching and brand controls for advertisers. These updates include enhanced AI-driven performance, better brand management, and increased visibility of search queries.

A Deeper Dive into these Key Updates:

  1. Brand Inclusions Recommendation for Broad Match: A new recommendation to include brand names in broad match keywords. What's important here is to stay on top of your search terms to best utilize your marketing budget.

  2. Brand Exclusions for All Match Types and Dynamic Search Ads: Advertisers can now exclude brand terms across all match types, including Dynamic Search Ads.

  3. Improved Search Term Report Visibility: Misspelled search queries will now be reported alongside the correctly spelled versions. This change means that, on average, 9% of previously hidden search terms due to misspellings are now visible. This will help you choose the most effective keywords and create the best negative keyword list as well.

  4. Simplified Misspelling Exclusions: Adding a single misspelled word as a negative keyword will automatically exclude all its misspelled variations.

These enhancements are designed to boost ad performance and give advertisers more control over their brand-related traffic. This will give advertisers more effective tools to control how their ads appear.
